Synopsis
Fereshteh comes from a poor rural family, but is determined to lead an independent life and works to pay her way through the University of Tehran. There she befriends Roya and the two form a lifelong connection. But she is also followed by a stalker, whose insistence that she marry him becomes increasingly violent. When he throws acid onto a man he takes for her boyfriend, Fereshteh is brought home to her village by her family and forced to marry a man whose jealousy threatens her independence almost as much as the stalker does.
