Synopsis
Three stories set in Berlin merge on the eve of a visit by Pope John Paul II. Hanna is homeless, and when she finds 100 marks, she is overjoyed. She plans to spend a night with her boyfriend in a hotel room with a bath. But things prove to be more complex than she imagined. Jochen is a farmer in the city overnight. He meets a young prostitute, whom he wants to be affectionate to. She is hard and businesslike, though, and their misunderstandings explode in violence. Peschke is a failed yuppie who is given a chance to redeem himself in helping a boy from Angola find his relatives.
