Brief Synopsis

Anna, a battered former prostitute and refugee, collapses at the feet of a stoic farmer, Henk, in northern Holland after escaping from her rough life in Poland. An odd bond develops between them as she takes up domestic tasks and establishes new house rules that Henk is forced to obey.
