Synopsis
In 1937, high in the German mountains, an elderly farmer and his wife adopt a baby girl, Leni. They find out after a year that the baby's mother was Jewish. Villagers pressure them to get rid of Leni until they finally give her up to nuns in Munich, unwittingly placing the girl's life in danger.
