Synopsis
A laconic British model, Frankie, arrives in an off-edge New York City on the crest of acclaim as the new face in an oblique world of haute couture. Her maverick agent, James, is busy setting her career on a path through the exploitation of third-world fabrics in a new line called "Homeless Couture" by the flamboyant designer Ponce. Beneath the glossy veneer of the model's life, a network of underground kinspeople illuminates a different reality, connecting Frankie with a homeless woman, Silvie, who turns out to be Frankie's long lost mother who harbors a dark secret about her daughter's past. Frankie's painful family reunion coincides with her agent's efforts to topple Frankie from her top-model status in his desire to find the next new face. Frankie's spiraling career and sanity takes her on a journey that forces her to shed an assumed façade.
