Miscellaneous Notes
Selected in 2004 for inclusion in the Library of Congress' National Film Registry.
After moving to the Soviet Union to study at the Moscow Film School (then the only one in the world), Jay Leyda showed his film to the great directors Sergei Eisenstein and Dziga Vertov, both of whom claimed to have been an influence on its style. Upon the strength of the film, Eisenstein admitted Leyda to his directing course.
