Synopsis

Characters are led on a symbolic journey into the recesses of ideas about race, gender, and class. The characters begin their expedition at a boutique in which racist clothing, literature, and memorabilia are sold. They descend into a sequence of increasingly horrifying rooms, "Masterpiece Theater," "The Room of Racial Slurs," and "The Vault of Memory." Their trip intercut with anecdotes from Billops, Hatch, and an assortment of their friends and relatives, exposes the deep roots of cultural and personal hatred that underlie the ostensibly casual use of language and objects.
