Synopsis
The story of five friends whose lives are turned inside out when a heated argument takes a deadly turn. Grant, Gale, Martin, Amy, and Johnny are a gang of petty ex-cons and unemployed outcasts. They stagger through life, barely surviving. After a night on the town, Johnny talks about making some fast money. An argument breaks out. Chaos ensues. In the mayhem we glimpse a fight between Grant and Johnny. Suddenly, a shot rings out. Johnny falls dead. Confused, they throw the body in the trunk of their car and flee toward California. On the journey, the remaining four try to piece together the evening's events. Looking back from each character's point of view, their stories tell different truths. With conflicting perceptions, they argue over their plan of action. Tensions mount when Gale confesses she called the police. Now running from the law, events become explosive. The two sides blur: Who is guilty? Who is innocent? Again, friends turn on friends. Who will survive?
