Synopsis

Having lived half his life in his native Romania, and half in his adopted homeland of America, Andrei Codrescu found himself struggling with his cultural identity. After learning to drive, Codrescu--an award-winning writer, humorist, and commentator for National Public Radio's "All Things Considered"--completed his metamorphosis into "homo americanus" by undertaking the sacred American ritual of the road trip. The resulting documentary is an amusing, ironic and irreverent ode to American diversity and eccentricity.
