Synopsis
Stephanie and Julia are best friends who work together, writing and illustrating graphic novels. Although they're on deadline, the partners procrastinate, choosing instead to talk earnestly and run small errands. Their leisurely day culminates with a series of unexpected encounters that force each to make crucial decisions by day's end. Both women are envious of one another: Stephanie lives a carefree cosmopolitan life, but desperately wants a baby. Julia lives an idyllic life in the country with her family, but this enviable existence is clouded with news of her husband's affair with a younger girl. This conversational snapshot of the complexities of 90's womanhood is laced with evocative "film-noir" fantasy sequences.
