Synopsis
Set in a Depression-era town called Castlegate, a tale which focuses on Bonnie, a wholesome lass who dreams of being a singer. In order to save her family from being evicted from their property, Bonnie comes to work as a maid in the mansion of their wealthy landowner, Ribaldi, who will only renew her family's tenancy under this condition. While the surly Ribaldi appears mistrustable to the townsfolk of Castlegate, he commits himself to serving as Bonnie's vocal coach, and she immediately approves under his tutelage.
