Synopsis
Set in 1965 in the misty bamboo forests of mountainous central Taiwan, a comedy-drama which reflects the national identity crisis that stemmed from Taiwan's occupation by the Japanese during World War II, and its subsequent return to Chinese sovereignty. The story involves a young woman who's been left in the care of her doting father-in-law while her husband is away serving a term with the Taiwanese army.
