Synopsis
Set in Paris, during the summer of 1944 just before the liberation of the city, a man forms a bond with his eight year-old granddaughter after being confronted with the harsh realities of war. Misfortune leads him to create an illusionary state of existence for himself and the little girl. The escapism becomes such an effective antidote to the pain he has endured, and is of such consistent enchantment to his granddaughter, that it eventually becomes the norm, ultimately inviting the viewer to suspend disbelief, along with the two of them.
