Synopsis

Norma, an actress, receives a jewel box which, when she opens it, reveals numerous poison snakes. A detective named Nelson is summoned to solve the case, and with the clue of a strange trademark, he traces the box to a mysterious Hindu priestess. The priestess is jailed eventually for attempting to have Nelson killed, but by her psychic powers, she sends her spirit to him while her body remains in prison. Her spirit compels him to assume the personality of a hardened criminal who then robs a bank. The next day, Nelson's real personality returns and he is baffled to find his own scarf at the scene of the bank robbery. With the aid of Norma and his mother, Nelson finally is able to clear himself and capture the escaped priestess who then kills herself with the contents of her poison ring. With her death, Nelson is free from his alter ego and can pursue Norma whom he loves.
