Synopsis

While visiting the rajah's palace, British military attaché Captain Kenneth becames obsessed with the desire to own the "Star of India," a priceless diamond set in a statue of Buddha. Informed that the stone produces the same yearning in all who see it, Captain Kenneth nonetheless attempts to steal it and loses his life in the process. The gem then passes to Richard Dare, who carries it to the United States followed by a Hindu servant who covets it. Carrick, who loves Richard's sweetheart, joins forces with the Hindu to wrest the prize from Richard, and afer a bloody battle, their henchmen are defeated. Ultimately, however, Richard returns the diamond to its rightful place in the Buddhist temple.
