Synopsis
Anthony Wayne, the artistic son of a proud old American, forsakes his fiancée, Doris Leighton, for the charms of actress Marcia Quesnay. Anthony's brother Stephen, alarmed at his brother's dissipation, meets Marcia in an endeavor to convince the actress to give his brother up, and the two fall sincerely in love. Meanwhile, Eric Mainwaring, an unscrupulous actor, convinces Anthony that he can buy Marcia's love and induces the boy to rob the money from his father's safe which Mainwaring then wins from him at cards. Discovering the theft, General Wayne urges his son to kill himself rather than lead a life of dishonor, and Anthony is contemplating suicide when Doris saves him. To restore his brother's honor, Stephen lies that he took the money, producing the bills which he had recovered from Mainwaring. In the reconciliation that follows, Stephen announces his engagement to Marcia.
