Notes

The film, which was composed mostly of unrelated musical numbers, May have been a compendium of "Soundies," short musical films which had originally been made for use in a "visual juke-box" format that was used in the late 1930s and early 1940s. Additionally, Lena Horne's two songs, "My New Gown" and "Unlucky Woman," in which she was accompanied by the Teddy Wilson band, as well as the Ammons/Johnson number "Boogie Woogie Dream," were taken from a 1944 short entitled Boogie Woogie Dream. The Ebony Trio's "Sermon on the Blues" was also featured in a short, Bipp Bang Boogie, produced by Alfred N. Sack. No release date information was found for Harlem on Parade, but NYSA records indicate that the film was submitted for censorship approval in February 1946.
