Synopsis

Susan, a society girl who is bored with her lot in life, reads and decides to use her time, energy, and money to uplift the poor. She founds the Joan of Arc Mission and quickly becomes an easy mark for con men. She then meets and becomes fond of Larry, the son of a loved and respected politician, working in the slum area. When Larry exposes the petty grafting that is going on, Susan almost ends their friendship. She is also befriended by Jim Cardigan, a saloon owner, who has evil designs upon her. Because she wants to turn Jim's saloon into an ice cream parlor, he promises to do so, but uses his interest to lure her to his upstairs apartment to take advantage of her. One of the con men runs to tell Larry that she is being attacked. At first he does not believe the man, but then he goes to rescue her and is wounded in the struggle. Susan nurses him back to health and wins his love.
