Synopsis
Enrica, a 17-year-old computer trainee, lives in a Roman suburb with her invalid mother and drunken father. Neglected by her parents, Enrica becomes mistress to Giorgio, a selfish law student intent on marrying another woman for her money. Her mother dies, but Enrica continues her affairs with Carlo, a fellow trainee, and Guido, an adventurous lawyer. She becomes pregnant by Giorgio, who arranges an abortion through a rich and eccentric countess. Evicted from her apartment, Enrica becomes secretary to the countess. After observing the aristocrat's unhappy experiences with younger men, Enrica determines to live alone.
