Synopsis

Unable to control her love for attorney Jeffrey Black, her best friend's husband, Nan Westland causes a break between Black and his wife Madge. Nan follows Black when he goes West, and a child William is born to them who bears a remarkable resemblance to David, the son Black left behind. When Black refuses to marry her, Nan leaves him and the baby and marries gambler Ben Richardson. Twenty years later, David travels West for a job and arrives in the same town where William lives. William, after running away from home as a boy, has developed into a worthless young outlaw called Rodeo, who wastes his time in a gambling hall run by Nan and her husband. Kathleen May, David's fiancée, comes West to join him, and as her train nears the town, it is held up by William, whom she mistakes for David. On her testimony, David is arrested for the crime and brought to trial in front of his father, now a judge. Meanwhile, William recognizes Nan as his mother and goes to visit her. Richardson, mistaking the boy for his wife's lover, shoots him, and on his deathbed, the outlaw exonerates his half brother. A tender reconciliation then follows between Madge, Jeffrey and their son David.
