Synopsis

The wealthy dying father of Jules Beaubien reveals that long ago he had a daughter by an Indian squaw who was adopted by a Canadian family. Jules promises his father to find the girl and let her share in his estate. In his search Jules meets Baptiste Le Grand, the sweetheart of the girl, who tells him her story: Annette was seduced by a city man who went away, leaving her pregnant. She gave birth to a daughter without revealing the father's name, then, delirious, she took her child out into a storm where they both were eaten by wolves. Jules and Baptiste vow to find "The Wolf" responsible and kill him, and they eventually stop at a boardinghouse run by MacTavish in which McDonald, a handsome and wealthy civil engineer, is staying. McDonald and Jules both are attracted to MacTavish's daughter Hilda, but only Jules wants to approach her honorably. In the end, McDonald is revealed as "The Wolf" who had betrayed Annette and he is killed by Jules and Baptiste in a desperate battle in the Canadian wilderness.
