Synopsis

Returning to his Rio de Janeiro home after an inspection trip in Brasília, prominent builder Mike Voray discovers his wife, Lynn, missing. After learning that she is divorcing him, Mike explains to his secretary Marina Silvera, who is secretly in love with him, that he suspects Lynn of having an affair with his partner Paulo. Attempting to contact his wife, Mike is assaulted at an address given him by Lynn's lawyer. Recovering, he learns from Marina that Lynn has been found dead. Marina also confirms Mike's belief that his wife committed adultery with several men, including Ray Donato. Mike confronts Donato, who reveals that Lynn was his mistress. Lynn, threatening to tell Donato's fiancée of their relationship, fell and struck her head in a struggle with him after he tried to break off the affair. As the police arrive, Donato flees into a crowd of people attending a carnival. Pursued by Mike, Donato falls to his death from a staircase. Mike and Marina return to Brasília as newlyweds.
