Synopsis

In Prague's Semaphore Theatre, lyricist-dramatist Jirí Suchý and composer Jirí ¿litr audition a group of teenaged girls for a musical revue. Among the singers are Vera, a member of an amateur jazz group, and Marguerite, a pedicurist. One of the girls suffers a bad case of stage fright, and another, supremely over-confident, learns in the end that she has not been selected for the production.
