Synopsis

The sad experiences of her mother, a Parisian dancer, have taught Julie Davenant to be wary of all men. As a result, Julie, a successful fashion model, remains aloof from her many admirers. While walking along the avenue one day, Melville Ilchester, a young Englishman living in Paris, sees Julie's wax image in a shop, and thoroughly infatuated, seeks out the original. Julie loses her heart to the Englishman and life becomes idyllic until Ilchester discovers her drinking wine in the company of two men and another model. Doubting her virtue, Ilchester denounces Julie. Julie protests her innocence, but even after she saves his sister Helen from eloping with the bigamous sculptor John Ramsey, Ilchester refuses to believe her. Determined to bring no more suspicion upon herself, Julie abandons her work as a model, nearly starving as a result. Finally Helen approaches her brother with a tearful note written by Julie, and the Englishman relents and makes the model his wife.
