Synopsis

Peggy Marston, a jazz-mad smalltown girl, when forbidden to go dancing by her stern parents, slips out to a ball with wealthy young Jerry Arnold. There she meets Maurice Dumond and Maxine, entertainers and society thieves, and she is flattered by Maurice's superb dancing. When she leaves home after a disagreement with her parents, Peggy is victimized by Maxine, who exchanges suitcases with her, thus causing her to be arrested for possession of stolen jewels. While Jerry goes to arrange her bail, a lawyer friend of Maurice's frees her, and she is engaged by Maurice as a dance teacher. In a quarrel Maxine shoots Maurice, but before dying in an automobile crash Maxine confesses to the theft and murder, clearing Peggy, who is then reunited with Jerry and her sick father.
