Synopsis

Don Fernando Gutiérrez, an aging Spanish rancher, has for many years searched in vain for his missing grandson, born to a daughter he rashly disinherited when she married an American adventurer. Paul Wharton arrives at Don Fernando's ranch and identifies himself as the missing relative. Fernando's adopted son, Juan, resents Paul's presence and attempts to put him out of the way by tying him on the back of a wild horse. Paul escapes with the help of his own horse, Tony, and returns to the ranch, where he finds his fiancée just arrived from Boston. Don Fernando dies and, through a misunderstanding, Paul's fiancée breaks off the engagement and returns home. Paul gives Juan a sound thrashing and marries Manuelita, a distant relative of Don Fernando's.
