Synopsis

During a raid on a gambling house, Dick Butler, who leads a double life (as a wealthy bounder and as the Wall Street Whiz), dodges the police and leaps into a car driven by Mrs. McCooey. Immediately taken with the poise and beauty of Mrs. McCooey's daughter, Peggy, Dick proclaims himself to be a "Butler." The old lady misunderstands, and Dick soon finds himself employed as the butler in the McCooey home. He foils the attempts of John Clayton, a crooked stockbroker, to ruin Mr. McCooey in the market and protects the elderly gentleman's money from a couple of yeggs hired by Clayton. Dick's identity is eventually disclosed, and he and Peggy wed.
