Synopsis

Henri D'Alour, a French war hero, is a man of mystery who socializes with the rich of Wall Street. Dorothy Stoner, the daughter of a successful Wall Street broker, finds Henri attractive but becomes suspicious when her father's friends, Mr. Robbins and Alan Gardner, accuse the Frenchman of breaking into her father's safe to steal international contracts. After an argument with Gardner at the Stoner home, Henri agrees to oppose his accuser in the athletic club boxing ring. The match is going badly for Henri when a note from Dorothy imploring him to win causes him to rally and beat his opponent. After the fight, Henri maintains his poise until he exposes Gardner as the real thief and reveals himself to be a French Secret Service agent.

Notes

This was the first picture produced by Robertson-Cole. The film had its premiere on May 29, 1920 at the Hotel Astor in New York under the auspices of the American Legion, an organization which had much admiration for star Georges Carpentier, the French war hero and pugilist.
