Synopsis

After 20 years of married life, Densie Plummer comes to the realization that the only pride her family take in her is in her cooking. In fact, Kenneth, her youngest son, is the only family member on whom she can rely. As John, her husband, is facing financial difficulties, Denise opens a tearoom, prospers, and soon becomes prominent in club circles. When John begins a flirtation with a young widow and asks for a divorce, Densie agrees; but with a market crash, John loses the widow along with his money. Sally, the youngest daughter, is refused marriage by an unsavory suitor, and she attempts suicide; Kenneth goes to avenge his sister and is killed by the man. His tragic death brings the family to its senses, and Mrs. Plummer leaves her business to establish a new home for them all.
