Synopsis
While they are searching for Red's father in the High Sierras, Red Hepner and his pal, Hank Robbins, become involved in the lives of "Pop" Adams, an old prospector, and his granddaughter, Jenny. Red finds a gold nugget, decides to file a claim, and finds that the property has already been assigned to Adams. Three desperadoes, Kirk McGrew and his two henchmen, are anxious to drive Jenny and Pop away from their cabin. There the gang has hidden a machine that manufactures counterfeit money. Red and Hank, backed by Tom Ellis, a government agent disguised as a surveyor, repel the villains. McGrew and his men return when Pop is alone. Knocking him unconscious, they rip up the floorboards and find, instead of the printing press, several sacks of gold Pop has stashed away. This leads them to try to claim the mine when Pop's claim (by coincidence) expires; but Red, Hank, and Tom join efforts to prevent this disaster. Tom has enough evidence to arrest McGrew and his gang. Red and Hank resume their search, while Tom and Jenny go into the final clinch.
