Synopsis

Miles believes that Marie Lamont has been untrue to him and leaves her. Years pass, and she becomes a famous actress. Young Philip Tranter becomes infatuated with her, and his mother goes to Miles and asks him to disillusion the lad. Miles, who still loves Marie despite his distrust, sets out to court her in the sight of Philip. When Marie breaks several engagements with Philip, he becomes furiously jealous and goes to Miles's apartment with a gun, finding Miles and Marie in each other's arms. He threatens to shoot Miles, and Marie, in order to save his life, tells Miles that she was only toying with his emotions. Miles leaves in dejection and prepares to sail for Europe. But Philip, realizing the depth of Marie's love for Miles, tells her that he will not stand in her way. Marie hurries to the pier, arriving in time to sail with Miles to a European honeymoon.
