Synopsis

"Buck" Andrade is so successful at holding up the Smoky Gap railroad line that the company's president, Murray Lemantier, dispatches crack detective David Cassidy to get Buck, dead or alive. After promising his dying mother that he will reform, Buck rides back to Smoky Gap on the same train that is bearing Cassidy to the little town. Buck's gang, now led by his rival, Pablo Trilles, robs the train, but although Buck orders them to desist, Cassidy tries to arrest him. Buck succeeds in locking Cassidy in his cabin, and then, masquerading as the detective, he proceeds to rid the district of outlaws and falls in love with station agent Faith Lawson in the process. In protecting the large sum of money left in his care, Buck performs a number of daring feats, finally joining with government troops to defeat his old gang. Lemantier awards Buck with a large check, which he uses to begin a new life with Faith.
