Synopsis

Tired of the monotony of small town married life, Nellie Blaine encourages the flirtation of Stephen Mallery, Jr., the son of a railroad tycoon, but refuses to go to Chicago with him. After she quarrels with her husband Tom, however, Nellie goes to Chicago alone and finds work there as a model, while remaining unaware that it was Stephen, whom she had met once again, who secured the position for her. Eventually, though, Stephen wants something in return for his efforts, and so he tries to rape Nellie, who struggles to fight him off. Just as she is about to give in to him, Tom appears and overpowers Stephen, after which, having seen enough of life in the big city, Nellie quickly agrees to return with her husband to their home in the small town.
