Synopsis

Three convicts, Larry Doyle, Mike Masters and Kelly Dillon, escape from prison and head for Pleasant Valley. Doyle was wrongly convicted of robbing the First National Bank and he believes he was framed by Ralph Dexter, who is now the fiancé of his ex-girl friend, Sally Sanderson. Sally and her brother "Slivvers" believe that Larry is innocent of the robbery of their father's bank. As the rangers search the woods for the convicts, Slivvers joins them and when he locates Larry, he suggests that the men hide in an old cabin. Dillon captures one of the rangers and uses the man's uniform and pistol as a disguise to allay the suspicions of a group of vigilantes. However, when Larry and Sally visit by the lake, Dexter spies them and notifies the rangers. Later, at the Sanderson Lodge, Dexter tries to shoot Larry, but misses and hits a ranger. Meanwhile, Dillon and Masters search Dexter's room for the stolen money and trick Sally into accompanying them back to the cabin. Hoping to bribe Dillon and Masters into leaving Pleasant Valley, Dexter retrieves some money from underneath a rock. At the cabin, Larry tells Sally that Dexter believes he is dead, and Slivvers returns to the lodge. Dexter arrives and proves his guilt to Sally by telling her that an officer shot Larry. Sally and Dexter go to the lodge where he and Larry fight. Sally turns Larry in to the rangers and tricks Dexter into revealing where the money is hidden. As Dexter uncovers the cache, Dillon steps from behind a rock and shoots him. Dillon and Masters engage in a gunfight with lawmen and are killed. Sally's story is backed up by the wounded rangers and she and Larry are finally reunited.
