Synopsis
At the insistence of his wife, Le Quintrec, a wealthy mine owner, hires wandering adventurer Jean Scholast as a reward for gallantry. When Quintrec dies as a result of Jean's plotting, his widow marries Jean, giving him power of attorney. Jean sells her property and flees to Arizona, where he marries an Indian squaw. Pursued by Armand, Le Quintrec's son, Jean dies of heart failure when Le Quintrec's spirit appears.
