Synopsis

Fueled by his father's loyalty to the Union during the Civil War, John J. Pershing develops a strong love for his country as a boy in Missouri. After graduating from West Point, he fights the Apaches and later joins Colonel Theodore Roosevelt at the Battle of San Juan Hill during the Spanish-American War. In the Philippines, Pershing subdues the Moro tribe, and after President Roosevelt makes him a Brigadier General, he is placed in charge of the Presidio in San Francisco. There he loses his entire family in a fire and is then sent to the Mexican-American border. Having proven his skill as a military leader, he becomes, with the entrance of the United States into World War I, the commander of the American Expeditionary Forces in France.
