Synopsis

Abdul Hassan, a pompous Turkish rug dealer in New York, disdains all womenkind, excepting his American-born niece Zelma, to whom he turns for counsel. Meanwhile, in Tamboustan, the sultan dies, and his violent and officious widow rules, for the seven male heirs have met violent deaths. Villainous Achmet Ali brings the sultana news of Abdul, now rightful heir, and she orders him brought for her inspection as a mate. Aboard their ocean liner, Zelma meets and falls in love with Donald Sims, a wealthy American adventurer; despite Abdul's protests, Donald follows them to Tamboustan. Achmet has Donald captured, and while Abdul courts a member of the harem, Zelma plans to rescue Donald, instigating a revolt in the harem and thwarting the sultana's henchmen, who are after Abdul. The quartet escapes and returns to the United States, where all is well.
