Synopsis

Margaret gives up her stage career to wed Jerry Benson, a dreamy inventor who fails to promote an invention when he appears before the board of a large oil company. Margaret, however, goes before the board and quickly and easily persuades its members to accept her husband's plans. The Bensons become wealthy, and Jerry is made an official of the firm. William Graves, the president, becomes interested in Margaret and attempts to break up the Benson marriage by introducing Jerry to Gloria Trevor, a scheming vamp; Graves then ruins him in the stock market. When Jerry learns of Graves's perfidy, he goes after him with a gun, but Graves pleads for his life and promises to make good the financial losses incurred by Jerry. Jerry then returns to Margaret, a sadder but wiser man, well aware that the damage done to his marriage by Graves will be difficult to repair.
