Synopsis
United States Marshals Bob Steele and Hoot Gibson ride to the town of Eggleston, Arizona, to investigate the killing of Bob's father, the manager of the local stagecoach line. On the trail to Eggleston, they witness a gang of outlaws attack a stagecoach. After chasing away the robbers, Bob and Hoot are thanked by the grateful passengers, Sally and Tom Buchanan, who are traveling to town to purchase a ranch, and Kelso McGuire, the powerful businessman who controls the town. As they near Eggleston, Bob and Hoot then discover the body of Furness, a rancher who had opposed a band of lawless men bent on driving the ranchers from their land. After Bob and Hoot help Sally and Tom establish their ranch, the other ranchers ask them to form a vigilante group to rid the county of outlaws. Bob and Hoot are reluctant to intervene until McGuire accuses Randall, the new manager of the stageline, of murdering Furness and incites a mob to lynch him. After Bob and Hoot save Randall from the mob, Randall produces a letter from Bob's father, asking for help in fighting the claim jumpers. Suspecting that McGuire is behind the lawlessness plaguing the territory, Bob and Hoot trick him into confessing that he killed Bob's father and ordered Furness' murder. With McGuire and his men behind bars, law and order is restored to Eggleston.
