Synopsis

Trigger Jim Malloy is released from prison and met by his brother, Kid, who tells him that his old gang awaits him. Trigger sends Kid home to protect him, while he discusses robbing the Pandora Mine payroll with partners Gimpy and Red. Later when Wild Bill Holman urges some rowdy local ranch hands to quiet down, Trigger intervenes, and Bill shoots him in the back. Trigger is nursed by widow Janet Moorehead, whose daughter Mary Jane immediately adopts him as her "Uncle Jim." Trigger is hired as the town's sheriff, and Bill promptly engages him in a fistfight, which he loses. When Lefty notifies Trigger that his old gang is ready to carry out the payroll robbery, Trigger experiences a conflict of interest. As sheriff, he must prevent the robbery of the mine payroll or Janet, who is in charge of the payroll, will lose her job. Janet entrusts the key to the bank safe to Trigger, and he tells his gang that the robbery is off. They reveal that Kid has joined the gang, however, and take Trigger hostage, steal the key to the safe and rob the bank. Trigger escapes and retrieves the money, which Janet contentedly sees him replace in the safe. Kid is caught and Trigger plans to release him, but Mary Jane does this first. Trigger is then united with Janet.
