Synopsis

An ailing minister journeys West with his daughter Bess to take the place of station agent William Wiatt and at the same time, regain his health. Before reaching his destination, the town of Oatman, he is invited to visit the ranch of one of the passengers, in reality the notorious outlaw, "Eagle" Ryan. With Bess and the minister safely ensconced at the ranch, Ryan enters Oatman, where, posing as the minister, he hopes to secure a shipment of gold that is due to arrive at Wiatt's station. After defeating Ben Grant, the town bully, in a fight, Ryan announces that he will preach in the saloon on Sunday. Ryan himself is surprised at the zeal with which he delivers the sermon, and this new power of religion, combined with Bess's gentle influence, effects his reformation. Bess learns that Ryan's old gang plans to steal the gold and warns him. He is wounded while preventing the robbery, but in the end, Ryan recovers and confesses his crimes, and Bess and the townspeople forgive him.
