Synopsis

Unjustly accused of murdering his father, Ned Keegles flees to the West, where he becomes known as "Dakota." During a fierce storm, Sheila Langford, who has come West to visit the Double R Ranch, requests the shelter of Dakota's cabin, but when the cowpuncher learns that her father is the man who accused him of murder, he forces her to marry him in order to gain revenge. Sheila then meets her father, David Langford, who soon afterwards presents Dakota with a contract to kill Ben Doubler, a kindly old man who has refused to sell Langford his valuable property. After Langford's foreman, Jack Duncan, shoots Ben, Langford again accuses Dakota of murder, but Sheila discovers the truth and confronts her father. Dakota arrives in time to save her from Langford's wrath and then forces the villain to sign a paper clearing Dakota of the earlier charge. Dakota then offers Sheila her freedom, but she refuses to accept it.
