Synopsis

Johnnie Lane returns from the trenches in France and discovers that Joe Slavin has been wooing Mary Reynolds, who has been waiting patiently for Johnnie to come back home. Slavin, who is the fireman for Mary's father on the Transcontinental Limited, knows that the elder Reynold's sight is failing and attempts to blackmail the old man into agreeing to his marrying Mary. Money is desperately needed for an operation on Mary's mother, and two of Johnnie's war buddies steal it from the station safe. Slavin attempts to pin the theft on Johnnie, but the two buddies return the money and Johnnie is cleared of any suspicion. Johnnie threatens Slavin, saves the Transcontinental Limited from being wrecked, and marries Mary.
