Synopsis

Silent Hardy and his daughter, Joan, journey to the North Country, where the old man discovers a rich vein of gold and is murdered by Jules Renault, who wants Hardy's map that gives the location of the mine. His dog, Rin-Tin-Tin, who did his best to save Silent Hardy, is blamed for the crime and forced to flee to the woods. Renault later returns to the Hardy cabin looking for the map and is seen by Joan's sweetheart, Terry Moulton, who follows him to the mine. There Terry sees a fight between Rin-Tin-Tin and Renault and hears Renault threaten to kill the dog in the same way that he killed his master. Terry makes his presence known and is overpowered by Renault. Rin-Tin-Tin pursues Renault over a frozen lake, and the man falls through the ice and drowns. Rin-Tin-Tin is reinstated in Joan's affections and mates with a she-wolf that presents him with a fine litter of pups.
