Synopsis

While out west, easterner Edith Caldwell is admired by Jack Manning, a cowboy employed on the Adams ranch, of which her father is to take possession in one year. Grace Adams, the present owner's daughter, is infatuated with Jack, although another ranch hand, Pete, has vainly sought her love. Grace arranges with Pete to intercept all letters exchanged between Jack and Edith, and Jack, believing that Edith no longer loves him, leaves the ranch. Pete then induces Grace to marry him. When Edith and her father return to the ranch, there is evidence of cattle rustling, and Jack is detailed to apprehend the culprits. He is unable to make Edith believe that he has not eloped with Grace, until he has rounded up Pete and his gang of rustlers.
