Synopsis

Two stagelines, one representing the "trust" headed by Jed Black and the other an "independent" owned by John Grayson, are competing for the award of a government mail contract. Grayson's employees (with the exception of ranch foreman Walt Powers) and his weakling son Jim are in league with Black to cause his downfall. The government official finally decides to base the award on the outcome of a race. Walt finds that Grayson's driver is in Black's pay and takes his place. The abduction by Black, during the race, of Grayson's daughter, Alma, causes Jim to repent his actions. She is rescued by Walt, who goes on to win the race, getting the contract for Grayson and Alma for himself.
