Film Details
Synopsis
Dick Rawlins, a cowpoke on the Jackson ranch, is in love with Inez, the beautiful daughter of the ranchowner; planning to ask Inez to marry him, Dick goes to town to buy her an engagement ring, eventually going into hock to Bob for $500. When Dick returns to the ranch, he learns that he has been fired as the result of a mysterious stranger's testimony. Dick goes to the bunkhouse and sacks out; while asleep, he dreams that at Bob's request he has faked a suicide in order to avoid paying his debts. Bob then knocks him unconscious and orders Dismal David, the town lunatic, to feed him to the crows; Dick escapes from Dismal David and rides to the minister's house, tangling himself in a sheet on the way. He finds that Inez is being married to Bob and starts to fight everyone present. Dick wakes up in a terrible sweat and finds out that Bob was pulling his leg when he told him that he had been fired. Bob also tells Dick that the stranger has brought him a check for $10,000, one month's option for oil rights on a piece of land that Dick owns. Dick embraces Inez and tells her how they will spend the cash.
