Synopsis

Jimmy Kenton, a rake who plays the "bright lights" route, is smitten with sudden love for Marguerite Crandall when she sneers at his sporty antics at a health resort. Jimmy then gets into a fight with her escort and is thrown into jail. Deciding to reform, he is bailed out by his father, who sends him to San Francisco to close an important real estate deal with Marguerite's father. Jimmy vows not to sleep until he has transacted the business, and his father decides to make him regret that rash promise. He arranges with the elder Crandall to delay closing the deal as long as possible and sends Pat Casey with Jimmy to make sure that he stays awake. Crandall delays the closing until Jimmy rescues his daughter from a forest fire. Crandall then closes the deal and gives his blessing to the marriage of his daughter to Jimmy.
