Synopsis

Hugh Bradleigh, the son of a socially prominent family, falls in love with Beth Levine, whose parents are Russian Jewish immigrants. Pete Albertini, the son of an Italian American family, is affianced to Sara Schmidt, whose parents are German immigrants. When war with Germany breaks out, Hugh, Pete, and Beth's brother Phil all enlist. Overseas, Phil loses his life in order to save Hugh's, and Pete loses a leg. When the survivors return from Europe, Pete marries Sara; Hugh announces his engagement to Beth, but his parents object. All objections are dropped, however, when the Bradleighs meet Beth's parents and learn of Phil's sacrifice for Hugh.
