Synopsis

Tom Farlane, a cowpuncher on a ranch in Wyoming and an ardent amateur photographer, receives word from his father's Texas ranch that his father has been murdered, with no clue except the fatal bullet fired from an automatic. Determined to find the killer, Tom goes to Texas under the guise of a soft city slicker and is greeted with derision by his father's men. Tom poses himself and Jane, his sweetheart, in the seat of a buckboard, fastening his camera to the corral fence; as he snaps the shutter, a shot is fired behind them. Don Barton, the guilty foreman, tries to convince Jane that Tom has a dancehall girl on the side, but when Tom sees the figure of Barton in the developed print, he tracks down Barton and Jane, rescuing her as Barton's car swerves over a cliff into the river.
